I had stopped by just to scout out the area for sunrise the next day but as I came by a storm was brewing fast over the Dallas Divide in Colorado. If you look at "A Dallas Divide Fall Day" you can see the storm in a wider context. After I took that photo I quickly drove down the county road and set up my camera before the light faded over the hay field. I was soon scampering my way back to my truck and getting hit with small hail but I was glad I stopped by. I really enjoy the contrast between the dark stormy sky and the bright fall of the hay field.
