Don't you just hate it when you open a bottle of wine and the cork falls apart or ends up with a hole jabbed all the way through it? It's always helpful to have a spare wine bottle stopper on hand. Here is a useful and great gift idea for your wine-loving friends... a decorative wine bottle stopper made from repurposed/upcycled silver-plated silverware plus real Oak cork.

★ This wine cork bottle stopper includes a flattened vintage silver-plated spoon with the words "In Vino Veritas" (in wine [is] truth) and a small flourished design. The total length of the cork & flattened spoon is approximately 4 inches. The antique spoon is rustic and shows wear from its previous life but adds great character to the wine bottles at a dinner party. The wine cork is tapered so it fits almost all standard size wine bottles. These are great for host/hostess gifts, Christmas gifts, housewarming gifts, and birthday gifts.

★ This wine bottle stopper is made from the reclaimed bowl of a vintage silver-plated spoon which was hammered flat and then hand-stamped by me using a hammer and metal "punches" to decorate it with the stamped words pictured. If you would like to design your OWN PHRASE for a spoon wine bottle stopper, please message me at the below link about setting up a custom order listing:
https://www.etsy.com/conversations/new?with_id=8996905&ref=pr_contact

★ Please Note: this wine bottle stopper is not intended for use with wine bottles that will be stored on their sides. Storing the wine bottle upright and keeping the cork dry will extend the life of this replacement/substitute cork.

★ Please Note: although the spoon is securely adhered inside the cork using industrial strength jewelry adhesive, please do *NOT* pull the cork out of a wine bottle by pulling on the spoon itself. If that is done, the spoon will eventually be torn from the cork because cork is naturally porous. Please pull up on the sides of the cork itself when removing this bottle stopper from a wine bottle.

★ The wine cork bottle stopper comes packaged in a gold gift box with crinkled paper packaging, ready to give as a gift.

★★★ PLEASE NOTE: The stamped letters are darkened/colored in using a NON-FOOD-SAFE ink. To clarify -- the upcycled flatware on my wine cork bottle stoppers are *NOT* intended to be put in the mouth. The "permanent" ink is meant to withstand repeated use & washing, but the ink will eventually wear off over time. However, the stamped words will remain forever. (And you can always darken in the letters again with a permanent marker such as a black extra-fine point Sharpie® marker. Just use a microfiber cloth to buff off the excess prior to drying.)★★★

➽ The repurposed silver-plated flatware is used. The spoon bowl show will some signs of wear whether from use or from storage or both. These reclaimed pieces have character from their former lives. There will be scratches, nicks, little spots, splotches, minor areas of pitting (black dots/scratches), and/or some small areas of plate-wear as shown in the sample photos. The flattened spoons also will not be 100% perfectly FLAT in all places. This flattening process is completed by hand and will show natural variations.

➽➽➽ Production time on this item is 3-5 business days, not including weekends or holidays.

➽➽➽ The gift-boxed wine bottle stopper will be shipped in a box *FREE* via USPS First Class Mail Parcel (3-7 days typical delivery AFTER production) OR for an additional fee via *upgraded* USPS Priority Mail Small Flat Rate box (2-3 days typical delivery AFTER production). Both shipping options come with USPS Tracking™. Upgrade to Priority Mail for an additional fee at Checkout.

➽➽➽ Pictures are enlarged (close-ups) to show detail. The photos are not the actual size of the finished item. Please refer to the applicable scale information shown in the photos (i.e., the U.S. penny, the U.S. dime, the ruler, etc.) and/or the listing description for actual dimensions. Remember, U.S. pennies are only 19mm across (roughly 3/4-inch or 0.75 inches) and U.S. dimes are only 17.7mm across (less than 3/4-inch; roughly 0.70 inches).

➽➽➽ All pieces are handcrafted by me. Spacing between, and depth of, hand-stamped letters, numbers, characters/images, etc., will vary slightly between, and within, items. These small variations add to the charm and unique nature of each piece. They are not imperfections. These items are handmade with a hammer & metal stamps, NOT made by machine. Therefore, every piece is one-of-a-kind as a result of the production process. No two will ever be identical!

****************************************************************************

♥ The silver-plated wine cork bottle stopper pictured is an EXAMPLE. Yours will use the same hand-stamped font and a similar size/shape of flattened spoon.

♥ The spoon is polished to as bright a shine as possible. It still shows wear due to its previous life and from being hammered flat. The spoon shows small scratches, dings, spots, minor plate-wear, wrinkles, and tiny dents.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Please carefully review ALL of the below information prior to placing an order:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1) What Exactly is Vintage/Antique Silverware?
--------------------------------------------------------------
This means the silverware pieces are previously used and can include nicks, plate-wear, and/or scratches. Each piece is thoroughly cleaned and inspected by me. I personally select each piece for its elegance, design, charm, and beauty. Only the best pieces are used for my projects. There is great beauty in old silverware. Pieces may be tarnished and slightly worn from years of loving use, but reviving them and giving them new life is a fun way to reuse, repurpose, and upcycle as well as to enjoy their vintage charm and history. The antique silver-plate spoon bowls used for these wine bottle stoppers are vintage and will show wear from their previous lives as well as from being hammered, in the case of wine bottle stoppers with flattened spoon bowls.

Silver plating on antique silverware also varies in color, thickness, and patina between pieces (and even within patterns) depending on the original design as well as how much each piece was used in its previous life. Because of the age and history of my silverware pieces, imperfections are to be expected and cherished -- that is part of their charm and character.

If you are seeking flawless, uniform, modern pieces for your stamped silverware, you have come to the wrong place. You would be better off looking for stainless steel pieces and/or engraved pieces.

2) How Should I Care for my Vintage Silverware?
------------------------------------------------------------------
Please hand wash your silver-plated silverware. This will preserve the plating, making the silverware last longer. Keep the cork dry, but you can use warm soapy water to cleanse the vintage silver-plated spoon decoration on the cork.

It is normal for silver-plated pieces to darken and tarnish over time. A light polishing with silver polish or a polishing cloth will keep them shiny.

3) Are the Letters/Characters Engraved?
-------------------------------------------------------
No, each letter on the silverware is lovingly hand stamped (i.e., hammered by hand by me). I carefully hand stamp each character -- one at a time. Therefore, no two pieces ever will be exactly the same due to the font/pattern used, the precise placement of each character, the character alignment, the depth of each impression, and stamp uniformity. This adds to the character, charm, and uniqueness of the pieces. Engraving is done with a machine, not by hand.

Because of the nature of hand-stamping, it is impossible to guarantee that 100% of letters/numbers/characters will be perfectly aligned. In some cases, minor tool markings may be evident on the front and/or back of the silverware depending on the design & thickness of the piece.

4) How are the Letters/Numbers/Design Characters Blackened?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The stamped characters on pennies, garden/plant/herb markers, silver-plated jewelry, wine cork bottle stoppers, and silver-plated ornaments are colored with a permanent, water-resistant, fade-resistant black dye. Even this "permanent" dye will fade over time. However, those products are *NOT* food safe and are *NOT* meant to be put in the mouth. Remember, these are *NOT* toys.

💗 💗 💗 Please convo me with any questions PRIOR to ordering. I am happy to set up custom orders with different stamped designs and different options. More new items are being added daily, so keep checking back. Thanks for looking!

This seller usually responds within a few hours.

If what you want isn't offered in one of my listings, PLEASE CONVO ME about a custom order. I'd be happy to make something similar for you.

Pretty much all of my listings are customizable. However, if you would like to make a change / addition to an existing listing and there is no option for what you want listed in the item description, please send me a message/convo ***FIRST***. I might need to set you up with your own special custom listing (which is easy!).

If you have an idea about making something else totally different, I accept custom orders as well. Just send me a message/convo.

Please don't request additions to an existing order after payment. Extra stamping usually costs extra, so start with a custom request instead.
I do *not* stamp on both the front & back of any single penny or dime. Stamping on one side causes a slight "smudge" in the metal on the opposite side (because the metal is soft). If you stamp on both sides of the coin, one side of the stamped characters ends up slightly distorted. The only way to avoid this is to stamp the characters *very* lightly (i.e., not stamped very deeply), which means they don't show up very well, even when darkened in. Thanks for understanding.
Handmade Takes Time. Production time for each item is listed in the item's description (Item Details tab) AND under the Shipping tab. (These tabs must be clicked to open if using a Smart Phone.)

Production time is how long it takes to create your item BEFORE shipping. Each item is handmade TO ORDER, except for the few items marked "ready to ship" (https://www.etsy.com/shop/amysuecrafts?search_query=ready+to+ship). Production time does not include weekends or holidays.

If you need something made faster than the stated production time, please message/convo me about RUSH Production options, availability, & fees. During busy times, RUSH production may not be available. And some items are not able to be rushed due to how they are made.
Please refer to the above FAQ for info. on production time (how long it takes to MAKE your item).

After your item is created, it ships by USPS. Most items include the option to upgrade to USPS Priority Mail shipping (2-3 days typical delivery), which is faster than regular shipping.

Please remember that I have no control over how long it takes for an item to reach you after I ship it. I don't work for USPS or have control over potential delays. Regular shipping can take 3-7 days AFTER your item is made. Priority Mail is faster (2-3 days typically), but it isn't USPS guaranteed.

In rare cases, I will ship by USPS Priority Mail EXPRESS, which is guaranteed delivery (usually overnight or 1-2 days, depending on where you live).
All of my custom hand-stamped items are made TO ORDER at the time you place the order. Custom hand-stamped items are not pre-made ahead of time, so they can be customized to your requested personalization.

All hand-stamped items are stamped by me, by hand, with a hammer, one letter/number/character at a time. Spacing between, and depth of, letters, numbers, characters, hearts, etc., may vary slightly within and between items. These small variations add to the charm and unique nature of each piece. They are not imperfections.

My items are not engraved by machine. They are lovingly stamped BY HAND by me (Amy). Hand-stamping is deeper than engraving, too. My items are rustic and natural, not perfect. No two pieces will ever be identical!
Once an item is shipped, you will receive an Etsy convo with the shipping date and USPS Tracking™ information to help determine roughly when your package will arrive.

USPS Tracking™ is not insurance. USPS insurance coverage is available and offered for every item. If you choose not to insure a package & it is lost, stolen, or damaged in transit, no refund options are available from USPS or from me.

If USPS shows an item as having been picked up from me and it (1) is never delivered or (2) is marked as delivered to your address but you did not receive it (e.g., misdelivered), you will need to contact your local Post Office for assistance.

I will gladly help you research late/lost packages. Just convo me.
