Argentium Sterling Silver Pearl Ring, size 8,Handmade Silver Ring with Fresh Water Pearl and Gold, Pearl Designer Ring, Delicate Silver Ring

The extraordinary pearl designer ring from my "Wave" collection is a handmade, high-quality and one-of-a-kind jewelry piece that I crafted from Argentium sterling silver, as well as 14 Karat gold and a gold-filled "leaf" with a silver fresh water pearl. The ring has a delicate, classy and extravagant expression.


My Vision and Fabrication of This Jewelry Piece

I wanted to create a silver ring with a pearl that appears feminin, modern and natural. I sawed the Argentium sterling silver ring shaft in a wavy shape and fused it with 14 K gold dust. I brushed the surface to a matte finish and polished the edges of the ring. I placed the fresh water pearl (about 4 mm in diameter) onto a hand-formed 14 K gold-filled (see below) "leaf."

I like to use “gold-filled” because it is a high-quality mechanical bonding of 14 K gold (585 gold) and another base metal (copper, brass, or sterling silver). In a special procedure the gold is rolled on the base metal and then permanently bonded under welding temperature. The gold layer is much thicker than that of a conventional gold plating. Hence, the material is significantly more valuable and tough.

Argentium sterling silver is a special type of refined silver that is much more resistant to tarnishing than regular silver since it is 100% nickel-free.


My Designing Style: Wabi-Sabi Meets Globetrotter

The decades I spent in the US and Japan shaped my world view as well as the design language of my jewelry pieces. I hereby honed my eye for wabi-sabi design - simplicity, elegance, and "just enough". The inspiration for my creations is nature's pure beauty - from the majestic Fujiyama over the foggy Blue Ridge Mountains to the fresh breeze of the German North Sea - all combined in inner tranquillity.

Product Maintenance

Frequent wearing can prevent tarnishing.
Jewelry is best stored in an air-tight and dark container to prevent tarnishing.
To clean your product I recommend the following procedure:
Using a soft toothbrush, wash the jewelry piece with mild soap and warm water. Dry well. Polished surfaces can be cleaned with a pre-treated polishing cloth. DO NOT use abrasive polishes, chemical tarnish removers, or ultrasonic cleaners on blackened/oxidized surfaces. DO NOT wear sterling silver jewelry in hot tubs, hot springs, swimming pools, salt water, etc.
