I'm excited to offer you this beautiful radiant cut Blue Topaz gemstone! Now what exactly is 'radiant cut'? The shape of the gemstone is octagon cut. Radiant cut refers to the faceting style and it's a very important part of this stone. On your standard octagon or rectangular cut stone, the faceting lines will run parallel along the sides of the stone, both top and on the underside. And as we all know, the facets are what gives the stone sparkle. So, your standard octagon faceting doesn't really give you a great deal of sparkle, nice but not necessarily amazing. Now a radiant cut is a whole different story! There's a party going on underneath this gemstone. The faceting lines go from the bottom tip of the stone up to the edge, fanning out all the way around forming triangular sections underneath. These extra facets cause the light to bounce all around inside the Topaz giving you fascinating sparkle and light play. If you look closely in some of my pictures, you can spot the facet lines going from the center of the gem out to the edges. This blue Topaz is 9x7mm and 2.95 carats of twinkling blue.

The Sterling Silver band was handmade by me, one little piece at a time. I started with a 5mm wide band of silver and set in tourmaline style prongs to hold the stone. I kept it simple to highlight the Topaz. On each side of the stone you will find tiny detail made from twisted wire and square wire. The gemstone sits low to the hand and should be easy to wear everyday. Life is too short to wear ordinary jewelry!
