Description

This listing is for one sheet of hand marbled paper. You will get one of the exact papers pictured. You are looking at the traditional nonpareil pattern, which has been often seen on the covers of antique books. The paper I use for marbling is all fine quality artist paper, ranging from 100% cotton to specialty drawing or pastel papers; they are archival quality for superior fine art projects. The finished sheet is perfect for framing, bookbinding, scrapbooking, cardmaking, collage or whatever paper art you can imagine!

The art of marbling has been around for centuries, in Japan and Turkey, gradually making its way across Europe and to the Americas. The pattern is made by dropping paint on a carrageenan bath using droppers or whisks, then combing in various directions. A print is taken by carefully lowering the piece of paper onto the surface of the bath. Although a master marbler can create extremely similar patterns and colours, no two pieces are ever alike, making the sheet a one of a kind work of art!

Size: 9" x 12"
Paper: Reich Savoy 100% Cotton
Weight: 80 lb (118 gsm)
Grain: Short

Your paper will be shipped securely in a cardboard mailer envelope via Canada Post. If purchased with a large sheet, it will be packaged in a tube. Base shipping rates are expensive in Canada, and the shipping quoted is the lowest available. I only charge for shipping and packaging, no handling fee. In the rare instance that I have overcharged by more than $2, I will refund the difference. You can also save by purchasing multiple papers.
