PDF Knitting Pattern #SS1940-K06 "Katie Cardigan" to make a traditional cardigan with pockets with argyle design to fit 18-inch dolls like American Girl®, Florrie, Gotz, Tonner My Imagination.

This pattern was created in collaboration with Linda O’Brien. It is a longer variation of the Lucy cardigan which has pockets.

The cardigan can also be knitted without the argyle pattern on the pockets and left plain or have the argyle pattern embroidered on them.

Design includes:

Realistic scale
• with argyle pattern
• plain
1940s sleeve style
One-piece placket
Button closure
Duplicate stitch embroidery
Line-by-line instructions
Graphic chart

Pattern features 10 pages of step-by-step instructions, including instructions for duplicate stitch embroidery.

Supplies needed:

• 1 skein (50 g) of fingering weight yarn in main colour
• remnants of fingering weight yarn in 3 additional colours
• A pair of circular knitting needles 2 mm (US#0)
• Crochet hook or yarn needle for finishing
• 7 small buttons, needle and thread
• Tapestry needle

In stockinette stitch with 2 mm (#0) knitting needles my gauge is 16-17 stitches and 24 rows in 2 inch (5.1 cm) square. You may need to use larger needles to get this gauge.

Suggested Skill Level - Intermediate.

Made this one a few times now, the pattern is a bit confusing as you are to count the increase as your first in a number of stitches. But it works up really nice once I got that figured out. :)
