The 50% alpaca in these socks is from my own backyard critters. (You can see a couple of the darlings if you look behind my feet in the pictures). The 20% wool is from my friend Caren's Corriedale cross sheep who live just down the road. I had Zeilingers, the mill that knit them, add 20% nylon so that the socks will wash up nicely and hold their shape.

They are very warm for such a light weight sock; warm, yet they seem to breathe. Alpaca is just that way. The color is rather hard to describe because it's a combination of all my alpacas, everything from white to gray to brown to black. They are probably called a heathery brown. My monitor caught the color just right, but I don't know if yours will.

The last picture shows the difference between a crew and a boot height. The boot is about an inch and a half taller.

*******This listing is for the Boot height. Be sure and tell me what size you need at check out *****
**********Small(9-11) Medium (10-13) Large (13-15)***************

I wear a size 9 shoe, a women's 10 sock and the Small work well for me.

Washing instructions: No extreme water temperature changes, light agitation, and definitely hang or lay flat to dry - Don't throw in the dryer! I washed mine in the washing machine with jeans on warm wash and rinse (added a little softener). They came out really nice, softer and fluffier. I dried them flat on my counter.

Let me know if you need more than one pair 'cause I have lots (over 200 pair ☺) I can make you up a special listing.
