For sale is a Set of Ten (10) Upcycled Snowflake Snow Scout SWAP or Craft Kits.
You will receive all the supplies necessary to create ten different snowflake SWAPs. Each kit comes with a unique assortment of vintage and costume beads in wintery colors - silver, white, and clear. Your scouts get to string the beads in any order they'd like. An adult (or older girl) will need to close the tops of the head pins with a loop using round-nose pliers. The head pins are pre-cut, so no trimming is necessary. The girls can add the safety pins and tags.
Because these SWAP kits use some upcycled materials, they are great for teaching reuse as part of a "Being Green" message. The snowflakes are great for celebrating diversity (no two are alike) in scouting. SWAP these beauties at a winter festival, party, or parade. They SWAPs are perfect for any SWAP event - troop meeting, campout, or SWAP & meet.
You may already have a pair of round-nose pliers and not even know it, so check your junk drawers! A small, regular pair of pliers may also work. Or, you can also purchase round-nose pliers from us! They are listed in the "Scout SWAPs and More" section of our shop. Here is the link:

What is the recommended age range for your craft kits?
Most of our kits are suitable for kids age 5 to 105. However, it is best to base your ordering on the skill and maturity level of your child or group of children. Some projects may be frustrating for little hands, and some may require additional adult helpers. Always keep small pieces away from children under 5 years of age to prevent accidental choking.

We don't include some supplies (like scissors and glue) with our craft kit orders because most people already have these supplies on hand. We don't want our customers to be forced to purchase supplies they already have. If there is something you need, please contact us. We'll see what we can do!

SWAPs are just crafts with a pin. The acronym, SWAP(s), stands for Something With A Pin or Special Whatchamacallits Affectionately Pinned Somewhere. SWAPs are small, hand-made crafts that are traded between scouts.
The best SWAPs are scout-made and come with a personalized tags that identify the event, date, location and/or purpose of the SWAP. SWAPs should also include a safety pin or pin-back. Scouts pin SWAPs on hats or hand-crafted SWAP holders.
