You will find the ink pen has an ideal weight and balance to it and also gives smooth writing with a Parker style refill. This twist style ink pen was individually handcrafted through a long process and is one of a kind. The Polymer Clay has been turned, sanded coated with 10 layers of finish and polished to a high shine that is extremely beautiful and durable. Handmade Pens Black Ti and Platinum Plating
Titanium is versatile, lightweight and strong, this metal is as strong as steel but is 45% lighter in weight, and is similar to platinum in its resistance to tarnishing. Titanium's strength, durability, and lustrous beauty make it an ideal choice for pens that are subject to daily wear.
Titanium Oxide is the hardest metal available for pen coatings. Its only "down" side is that it has a dark smoky color rather than the bright brilliance of platinum and rhodium. With the appropriate pen style and body, this can give a very dramatic and rich appearance.

Platinum is extremely durable. It's shiny and beautiful, but it's also a metal that will last for generations.

Possibly natures most brilliant and durable precious metal, Platinum is used by the world’s premier pen manufacturers to plate their very finest pens. Platinum has a soft white hue. It's 30 times rarer than gold (which means it's more expensive), 40% heavier than 14K gold and platinum will not tarnish or oxidize, however it ages beautifully by developing a lustrous patina.

Platinum sells for as much as $1,500.00 per troy ounce and it is unmatched in brilliance and durability. The Rhodium and Platinum plating on my pens will last a lifetime.

Handmade Pens Polymer Clay Millefiori
The highest quality professional Polymer Clay Millefiori pen Blanks in existence. Every Pen Blank is a one-of-a-kind work of art.

The millefiori pen blank is covered with Polymer Clay (sometimes known as 'poly-clay') that is cured, making them extremely durable. Each cane image; leaf, flower, butterfly, fish, bird, insect, drama mask, skull or other various assorted images is individual pieces that have been created and applied one slice at a time to make the finished pen blank. The poly clay is this coated in multi layers of finish for durability.

Millefiori (Italian: [milleˈfjoːri]) is a glasswork technique which produces distinctive decorative patterns on glassware. The term millefiori is a combination of the Italian words "mille" (thousand) and "fiori" (flowers). The millefiori technique has been applied to poly-clay and other materials. As the clay is quite pliable and does not need to be heated and reheated to fuse it, it is a much easier medium in which to produce millefiori patterns than glass.

Additional Information on Handcrafted Pens
All of my ink pens are handcrafted on a lathe in my shop
Each picture of a pen is the actual pen that you will receive
All pens will ship within 24 - 48 hours
Each ink pen is unique; no two will ever be alike since they are handcrafted works of art.
All of our wood products are purchased through legally licensed providers that provide exotic woods from sustainable forest product areas.

Ink Pen Crafting Process
The ballpoint pen is constructed first by hand selecting each piece and then cutting, drilling and turning the pen to its final shape on a lathe. The pen is then sanded 7 times with progressively finer grits (150, 220, 320, 400, 600, and 800) of sandpaper, to achieve a very smooth surface and a diameter tolerance of .001 - .002 in, for a smooth transition with the metal parts. Wood pens then have 10 coats of finish applied and the ink pen is sanded again 9 times with sandpaper to 12,000 grits to a high shine or satin finish. Acrylic and Tru-Stone pens are sanded 9 times with sandpaper to 12,000 grits for a high shine and then a polish is added.

FAQs

I handcraft all the pens on this website. No two handmade items are exactly alike. Variations in color, shading, texture, shape and grain are inherent in a handmade item. No two items are alike, so that every single one is one-of-a-kind. This means that every handmade item you purchase is also one-of-a-kind. What’s not to like about that?
All of our wood products are purchased through legally licensed providers that provide exotic woods from sustainable forest product areas.
All of our pen pricing is based on the price of the materials involved in the making of the pen. You may see two pens that are the same style but priced differently. The price of the finishes plus the cost of the Woods or Acrylic affect the pricing. Chrome plating while durable is less expensive than say Antique Pewter. A more common wood is cheaper than a rare exotic such as Burl. All pens are not created equal. The time involved for the final steps of sanding and sizing for an exact fit are the most important. My pens may at first seem a little more expensive but the finished quality of fit and finish are very high and require more time and skill to complete. I redo and dis-guard pens and parts all the time that do not meet my standards.
Yes, all of our pens are one of a kind, no large production. When a pen is purchased, the item page changes to out of stock because it is the only one there is.
If you see a pen you like, let me know, I will give you a price, and estimated ship date. Please note that although the pen I make will be similar there will be slight changes in color and grain as each wood or acrylic piece is unique
Yes, you can, if you see a pen style you like and a wood or acrylic you like on another pen let us know and we will give you a price, and estimated ship date
We currently only sell and ship to the 48 continental USA states by USPS.
We accept returns for 14 days from the date you receive your order. We do not pay for return shipping unless the pen is defective.
Every ballpoint and rollerball pen I sell uses standard Cross or Parker refills. The fountain pens use Waterman Style, and all are available at office supply and stationery stores worldwide
Yes I do, any upcoming shows will be found on my homepage under announcements. I currently am only doing shows in Massachusetts.
