Description

Miranda Caroligne literally wrote the book on reconstructing clothing (Reconstructing Clothes for Dummies) and working with sweaters is one of her favorites! This piece, a reconstructed sweater shrug, is the most popular of Miranda’s reconstructions. It’s a great piece to thrown on to add a little warmth and style to a simple jeans & tee kind of outfit, or pair with a cocktail dress. These have even been custom-ordered in ivory for several weddings! This most recent cut shapes elegantly around the ribcage and hits a length in the middle of the back.

Size: estimated fit snug size 4 - 6 US. Measures 14” across back, 10.5” upper arm circumference, 19.5” arm length.

-Fabric content: Recycled sweaters, varied content, no wool. Machine washable in cold gentle, no dryer. Agitation and heat will pill sweaters, as well as other materials.
-Feel free to message with any questions or custom requests to reconstruct your own sweaters!
-Free alterations by appointment in San Francisco CA and Jacksonville (Applegate) OR.

Miranda Caroligne has been sewing most of her life, turning this past-time into a career after a bicycle accident rendered her unable to continue work as a physical therapist in 2003. Having an understanding of the body and its movements is evident in her clothing. Mostly working in recycled, upcycled, sustainable, reconstructed materials ... she ventured into fleece upon moving to San Francisco and frankly just being cold. Her works in fleece immediately took off and a full line of fleece was eventually requested by a sales rep that walked into her San Francisco boutique. It remains the only “line” in production, as the OOAK sustainable pieces continue to be Miranda’s passion, as well as the subject of her book Reconstructing Clothes for Dummies.
