Lightweight bendable mouth stick stylus for tablet and smartphone.

+++ 2018 update +++

With the start of 2018, we're happy to announce a complete upgrade of our entire mouthstick product line. Most important change is that all mouthsticks are now bendable, so you can adapt it to your own specific situation. This is made possible due to a special type of stainless steel tubing that is now used for all mouthsticks.

This listing contains the basic fixed-size mouthsticks that are most often used by people looking for a mouthstick solution. For special purpose mouthsticks, please look at all the offerings in the MOUTH section of this shop.

All mouthsticks contain three parts: the mouthpiece, the bendable stick and the conductive plug (tip). The mouthsticks in this listing have a net length of 12", and 14" total length (incl. mouthpiece). For the mouthpiece you can choose between the V-shaped ergonomic mouthpiece or a straight tubular one. For the tip, all mouthsticks use the same highly conductive fabric plugs; no drag, no pressure required. All parts are also sold separately (e.g. mouthpieces, plugs, sleeves; see elsewhere in our shop).

Each mouthstick has two bending sections; one near the mouthpiece and one near the tip. As such, it gives you any angle possible to optimise it for your personal working position. Bending is possible with bare hands and it can be bended over and over again.

+++ History +++

It all started when the wife of a quad (quadriplegic) patient ordered a regular Stylus Socks stylus from our Etsy shop. She found out about our conductive socks concept while she was visiting a local Apple store and one of the employees started Googling for a proper solution. Their first approach was to put the conductive sock around the tip of their existing plastic mouth stick. But as you may know, a capacitive touch screen requires some ground (body) contact to make it work. And with a plastic mouth stick, this means that a wire needs to be wrapped around the stick and into the mouth, which is not very convenient.

Then we made a custom solution for them based on two approaches. One with a fully conductive aluminum mouth stick gaining enough electrical ground by itself, and one that uses the iPad's body as an electrical ground so you can use it with an existing mouth stick of any material (even plastic). We shipped it and got positive feedback on both approaches. We tweeted about it and got in contact with people around the globe dealing with ALS or MS and started supporting them. A few weeks later, several of these packages got shipped to the US and AUS. And people using a head pointer got triggered as well, so that's how we started offering the conductive plugs. Just put these around your head pointer's tip and you're ready to go.

So I just got my mouth stick and it’s not quite like the stick I have now. One the part you bite on ( the plastic ) is a thin plastic and it feels like if you drag it to hard it might break. Two the plastic part you bite on is straight so when I bite down thck points up. The plastic mouth piece should be on a slight slant so when you bite down the stick doesn’t tilt up.

Super fast delivery! My teenage son broke both his wrists (doing a stunt on his bicycle) and has both arms in casts all the way up above his elbows. Our quadripligegic friend jokingly suggested I order him a mouthstick for online gaming during Corona quarantine. Turns out my son is really grateful and likes this mouthstick a lot! I chose the straight tubular because he has seen that on our friend who types and talks at the same time.

Absolutely first class item. The Stylus has really opened the technology of touch screens to me. I have no arms and therefore use a mouth-stick for many things. Ivo (Shapedad) is an extremely pleasant and creative man with whom it is a pleasure doing business. Keep up the good work....! Many thanks. Paul.

It's lightweight, it's small and it fits in your mouth. What else is there to say? It does exactly as it's advertised also Ivo is very helpful. Something worth noticing though:I'm using an android tablet and depending on which brand you use the screen technology is different. In my case I have a Sony Z2 SGP521 which is equipped with a scratch resistance that's built in. This means the screen needs more conductive electricity to work. I have the regular stylus which is a shorter stick but with the longer silicon cap you can see on the lite stylus image. This makes it comfortable to hold in my mouth and I have no problem with this shorter stick. It's flawless!
