Very similar to versions made by the Hendrix Co., this charming Victorian era beehive bird cage is made by "John Maxwell's & Son - New York". From the Victorian era, circa 1890 to the early 1900's. Even the paper used to line the bottom is antique, although we weren't able to find a date. The under tray detaches with 3 small clips that operate perfectly and the door has little grooves to hold it closed, as well as a spring hinge. The wire caging is intact with no breaks, although thee are a few small bends. The small brass plaque on the door is marked Maxwell. Approx 12" tall x 11" wide.

With unique paisley patterned bottom and top bands, this beautifully detailed, decorative and well-preserved old birdcage, is a must have for any collector or bird lover.

We are happy to combine shipping whenever possible, or provide a quote for international customers, all you have to do is ask. However, rest assured we will automatically refund shipping over-payment on all orders, where the excess is $2.00 or greater.
