This sturdy weapon is a non-functioning blaster which is based on the detonation of penthrite, first synthesized in 1891 by Bernhard Tollens. One of the two tanks would contain pentaerythritol and the other nitric acid. These chemicals form a high explosive known today as PETN. PETN is notoriously difficult to ignite, so we have solved the problem with a hand cranked, high powered electrical capacitor. The baffles in the barrel of the gun focus the resulting explosion, sending it out the barrel in a cone shape that extends approximately 50 yards. There is no projectile, this weapon is a "street sweeper" that uses only explosive force to clear an area. The stock is hand-hewn and finished, the parts are all bolted together. This impressive device is the perfect accessory for any hard-core Steampunk regalia. The blaster comes with two stands, one with natural laurel hooks for hanging on the wall and the other with cradles for table display
