DEWA is a Tibetan word used to describe the happy state of a balanced body, mind and spirit. DEWA’s Four Elements candle series is designed in the spirit of the Tibetan aesthetic which celebrates human potential for joy and transformation.

DEWA candles are inspired by Tibetan butter lamps, which are made of copper and filled with ghee (clarified butter), used as offerings on Tibetan Buddhist altars. The flame of the burning candle represents the luminous nature of the Buddha’s teachings, symbolizing the wisdom of the enlightened mind. The Four Elements refer to the fundamental components of all life: Earth, Water, Fire and Air.

DEWA candles are made in the United States, hand-poured by Brooklyn Candle Studio in Brooklyn, NY using 100% Soy derived from American grown soy beans for an eco-friendly, clean, burn. Uses lead-free cotton wicks, primed with vegetable based wax and premium grade fragrance oil. No added dyes or chemicals. Vessels crafted by Copper Mugs in Ventura, CA. The inside of the vessels are untreated and can be reused.

It is our hope that the light which radiates from a DEWA candle will evoke the beauty of Tibet’s peaceful Buddhist culture of love and compassion and will contribute to your well-being.
