Description

A perfect, non-toy gift for young children this year! This Christmas-themed quiet book includes 10 activity pages (or file folder games) emphasizing hand-eye coordination, speech development, matching, and pretend play that will grow with toddlers.

Unlike many other busy books, this book promotes interactive play as well as independent play because children learn best from parents and caregivers. So parents can get tots started by reading a poem or singing a song and then let their kids play with the variety of interactive pieces on their own.

Here's a summary of each learning activity:
1. Build a Snowman - Boosts hand-eye coordination and size recognition
2. Find It puzzle - Tots look for toys in the picture. The toys are common first words, so adults can encourage children to practice their speech.
3. Cookie Decorating - Shape matching
4. 5 Little Reindeer - Christmas poem with removable reindeer that teaches the five senses, number sequencing, and hand-eye coordination
5. Special Delivery - Color matching
6. Christmas Game - Movement activity
7. Decorate the Tree - Shape and color matching with primary colors
8. Find It puzzle/Gingerbread Twins - Find cookies and learn about opposites.
9. Santa's Flight - Action song and vocabulary building activity
10. Reindeer Games - Hidden object game. Young tots learn about unseen objects (just because it behind the tree doesn't mean it's not there), and older tots can play hide-and-seek with Rudolph and his friends on an interactive pretend play scene.

FAQs

For the best durability, I recommend printing on cardstock. However, if you use the thicker (5mil) laminating pouches, regular computer paper will be fine.
After you laminate your pages and cut out your pieces, I recommend using small velcro fasteners to attach movable items on your book. You can purchase these velcro fasteners at superstores or craft stores.

First, put a velcro dot on your cut out piece. Second, attach the other velcro side to the velcro you just put on your cut out piece, sticky side out. Third, gently lay the item on the page of your book. When you have it in place, press down, to the second velcro dot sticks to your book page.

Then, your cut out will line up exactly how you want it to on your book!
Bind your book in the best way for you. Some customers keep the pages separate and create file folder games. Others use a three-hole punch to add pages to a busy binder. Personally, I like to have mine bound at a local print shop, which is about $2-3.
