Glass, Silver

Length: 2 Inches; Width: 1 3/8 Inches

These go-with-everything, basic bohemian sterling silver hoop earrings measure 1 3/8" at their widest, and are around 2" long. The heavy-gauge handmade earwires are spring-loaded and secure. I chose and would recommend 18-gauge (thick) wire for the earwires, but I can exchange for smaller 20-gauge if you prefer. Just leave a note to me in the space provided at checkout!

To the pointed teardrop frame, I added a chunky 5/8" wide turquoise Czech glass bead placed on a Sterling pin and encased in simple handmade sterling caps. The other Czech beads are the same length, but the amber and cobalt beads are not as wide. These are available in my shop in a longer frame and also without the beads here: and here: and here:

I have made myself a pair similar to these since I listed the first pair, and just have to comment on how secure the earwires are...I wore them SNORKELING more than once in the Caribbean, for hours at a time, and they stayed on my ears!!! I wouldn't recommend this, but I forgot to take them off when I jumped in the water! The wire is very thick, and work-hardened thoroughly with a hammer. I was thrilled that they didn't come off. Nice! My similar pair is always my go-to earrings for everyday wear.

I have been wire-wrapping for years, but had never tried this until recently! I first planished (okay, flattened!) heavy-gauge sterling wire in the shape you see. *this is an old note; I've been making these for years now, but the description holds true. I just try to make them roughly the same width and length. Please be aware that the Shape varies a bit when I make these. I also make these to order without the bead (they are called "Moroccan Hoops" and can be found in my shop. I can also accommodate custom orders with different color beads, shiny instead of antiqued, etc. The second photo shows a slightly smaller pair with an antiqued silver finish. I confess I have a bit of a thing for Czech beads...I probably have any color you could imagine, so ask if you want pink, purple, cubes, owls, or anything else!

After hammering and buffing, tumble polishing and tweaking just a bit, I have these ultra-cool, thick, SUBSTANTIAL earrings you see here. Edgy and timeless, all at the same time! And slightly larger than previous versions... I like these because they are relatively lightweight and have more movement than one-piece hoops. The beaded dangles are not removable.

♥The earwires are thick, but I can substitute smaller 20-gauge standard earwires if desired. The shapes of the wires are difficult to reproduce, so they may not be exactly the same shape!

♥The catch is tricky at first, but very secure. However, I wouldn't recommend these for arthritic hands
♥These will ship within 2 weeks in a lovely gift box complete with tag!

I enjoy experimenting with this style, and have added gemstones, wire wraps, and sterling beads. Never the same. But no pattern means no duplicates, never another one just like it. Definitely NOT department store earrings!

An occasional soak in warm soapy water (yes, except for soft/porous stones like turquoise, they are safe for showering, too!) will keep your item looking new, as will daily wear, which inhibits tarnish. For orders $25+ I also include a small polishing cloth which can be used on dry pieces until it is completely black.

For shiny jewelry, I use a silver dip product for polishing. Just dip and then rinse in water. This will not remove black lettering.

If the text lightens (common inside of bracelets), fill in the letters with a Sharpie. Best hack ever! Wipe off the excess ink while it is still wet and sand off remaining residue to make the lettering pop again. I include sanding paper in every stamped bracelet order.
Exact wrist size is important for my bracelets! A 7-inch bracelet only works on a 6.75 inch wrist if it is chain. One with 1-inch beads that is 7" long may only fit a 5" wrist. So please send your exact wrist circumference if you are ordering a bracelet and want to love it a long time!
