Antique hand stitched patchwork quilt. Mid 19th century. Fabrics seem to date between 1840's to 1850's. Intricacy and density of stitching is consistent with 1850's or so.

The maker probably called the pattern Wheel of Fortune or Pyrotechnics. The Pyrotechnics pattern #176 could be purchased in the late 1880s from the Ladies Art Co. of St. Louis.

Needs some repairs but is restorable or would display well on a wall as is. There is some fraying along the edges. The patches are worn and will need to be replaced with period fabric on 12 of the squares. Worn through the backing in a few small places - along the edges. It has faint stains and a faint smokey/musty odor. I have not tried to clean it.

Measures 83 inches by 96 inches
