This is an arrangement of an old Irish folk tune with words by William Butler Yeats, the poet. It is called Down By The Salley Gardens. I arranged it for folk harp, tenor recorder, violin, and voice. This is a very easy arrangement, yet it has a musically mature sound and is very lovely. It is playable on a small 22 string folk harp. The violin part is optional and very easy - a beginning violin player with a good ear can play it, the notes are a simple drone-like filler. The song has an Irish lilting character. The recorder gives it a lovely folk wood flute sound, but you can also play it on flute or oboe or violin. You get the song spiral bound in hard stock cover for the vocalist. There is a separate set of pages for the instrumentalists. Shipping is $2.50. See my other pieces I have arranged. You may order several and save on shipping. It is fun to try new music. I LOVE writing music! You will love this piece, guaranteed! Enjoy!
