Signed Edgar Littlefield Glazed Earthenware Footed Compote.

High glaze applied in no less than six colors ranging from browns to blues.
No chips, cracks or hairline fractures.

Edgar Littlefield was a graduate of the Ceramic Engineering Department at Ohio State University and in 1929 joined Arthur Baggs to help with the new art division at the University. Together they did massive research in controlling a particular type of copper red glaze. They published a paper describing their findings in the Journal of American Ceramic Society.

Size: 6.25" tall & mouth opening is 6.5" wide
Condition : It is in excellent condition with no signs of damage. Age : The approximate age of the item is, circa early to mid 20th century.
