Pair of beautiful Art Deco lustreware Salt Cellars, handpainted radish or beet motif, on 3 tiny gilded ball feet: Moritz Zdekauer Bavarian porcelain, signed by artist “Harmon," probably in the 1920s, with iridescent luster interiors and creamy exteriors, ranging from a pale ivory to a warmer tan cafe au lait. A border of black brackets accent the lovely reddish-orange radishes (or beets?) & their ruffled greens, while a trio of ball feet gilded in rich matte gold adds the bling to this design...stunning!

:: Listing Contents ::

This listing is for a set of 2 Salt Cellars; at time of listing we have a total of 3 pairs. If purchasing 1 or 2 pair, please indicate your color preference. Otherwise, we'll fill the order with the darkest colored ones first.

:: Related Items ::

Please Note: A larger bowl in the same shape and hand painted design is available in a separate listing. See last photo for example, pictured here for reference only.

Condition is excellent; other than a bit of gold wearing off the bottom of the ball feet, there are no chips, cracks, nicks, crazing, repairs, etc. to any of these pieces; they're in incredible condition.

Salt cellars measure 2 1/8 inches in diameter [5.4cm] and 7/8ths of an inch high [2.25cm].

Maker’s mark stamped in green on underside, “M.Z. Austria” with the crown & double eagle insignia; hand signed by “Harmon”.

:: Care & Handling ::

As with any fragile porcelain with metallic embellishment, these pieces should never be used in microwaves, and we strongly recommend hand washing with a mild dish soap. Where there is surface crazing, avoid staining by restricting contact with acidic or deeply colored liquids & foods (strong coffee, beets, etc).

Please Note: Vintage and antique dishes were often decorated with glazes containing varying levels of toxic substances, like lead or cadmium. If you have a concern, please research before purchasing. To minimize exposure when using vintage dinnerware, please observe the following precautions: use infrequently; do not expose to high heat, including microwaves, ovens, and dishwashers; avoid contact with acidic foods & liquids, especially if piece is cracked or crazed (slight crackling of the clear overglaze); do not use to store food or liquids; hand wash with a gentle detergent soon after use and allow to air dry.
