The Stone Tunnel is an arched doorway through a bunch of big rocks that look about to tumble down on anyone trying to use the secret Tunnel without permission. Or maybe those are just a cloud bank surrounding the secret rainbow entrance to Fairy Land. Maybe it’s a Railroad Tunnel through the mountains. For you people out there with Nature Tables, this could be the chipmunk, gopher, or fox tunnel that provides shelter for those critters. Use the stone design or paint it as grass or shrubbery surrounding a tunnel. It is hard to tell sometimes just what will use these tunnels! I am sure you will come up with your own story to go along with this great stacker……or the kids will.

This item will be listed as 1 or 2 available. If you need more of this item, please convo us and we be glad to fill your order. We are running into a storage problem in trying to keep at least 5 of each item in stock, so our slower items, or items that do not usually sell in multiples are going to be listed as only 1 or 2 available and Ron will cut them as needed. It may take a little longer to ship this item if it is not in stock and Ron has to cut it, but usually not more than a day.

Here is my story: One morning I looked out the window and saw a neat pile of small rocks near the lilac bushes where none had been before. So I went outside to check it out. The chipmunks who lived under the edge of our small (plastic) garden pond had tunneled over to the bird feeder by the lilacs. The stone pile was the result of “cleaning” up their tunnel and surrounded the entrance!

This heavy stacker is 9-1/4 inches wide, 6-1/4 inches tall and 1-1/4 inches thick making it very sturdy and giving the tunnel some great depth. Like our other items, your stacker comes unfinished and will possibly require a bit of finish sanding in the cracks and crevasses that Ron can’t reach with the power sander. The fine blade on the bandsaw does a great job so there won’t be much for you to do in the sanding department unless you want to blunt the edges a bit before you start your finish work.

Since each stacker is hand cut, pieces are not interchangeable front side to back side or from stacker to stacker. If you are buying several of the same stacker, you may want to paint them a little differently so you can tell which pieces goes with which stacker more easily. I will not be re-photographing these stackers, so the one you receive may have a slightly different grain to the wood. Some Big Stackers may have small, tight knots, although we try to avoid them!

Painting these rocks, clouds, shrubbery or whatever will define your tunnel/rainbow and certainly change its whole character. Don’t be afraid to do two totally different formats front and back! Who says the Rainbow door isn’t also used by the chipmunk coming through his own tunnel? Chipmunks sure can disappear quickly! They must go somewhere. Mr. Fox is pretty tricky too!

Your Stone Tunnel Stacker will be shipped Priority Mail in a padded envelope in the USA and First Class International outside the USA. If your country is not on the shipping list, please convo us for shipping information.

Our pine cutout items are designed and copyrighted by me (Phyllis). They are free hand drawings and will not be the same side to side. I feel this gives them more character and individualism. The items are then hand cut one at a time by Ron with his band saw. They are lightly sanded. All this means that no two will be exactly alike. Pieces of stackers and puzzles are not interchangeable. Pieces of stackers and puzzles must be all "right" side up to fit together properly. If a piece is flipped over, it won't fit! This makes the stacker more challenging and less boring over time. If this is an issue for your young ones, we suggest that one side be painted in dark colors and the other side in light colors. For instance, a rainbow could be primary colors on one side and pastel colors on the other. Due to differences in printers, hand cutting and sanding, the drawing GUIDES provided for our cutouts are never going to fit exactly. They are merely GUIDES to help you with details as you finish your cutout!

Our hand cut items are cut from pine grown in the USA and occasionally Canada. The lumber is marked KDHT which means it is KILN DRIED (to reduce the moisture content) and HEAT TREATED (pasteurized, heated to partial sterilization to kill bugs and bacteria). Our items are sold UNFINISHED. Although Ron lightly sands our hand cut items, there could still be rough spots, sharp edges, or even a few splinters. It is up to you to finish sanding the items to your liking before applying any paint or finish. We don't recommend any one finish over another. It is up to you to choose the type of finish you prefer and read the labels to be sure it is child safe!

We do not recommend any of our products for children under 3 years of age. Small pieces can be a choking hazard so if your child (or pet) is still taste testing everything, use common sense when purchasing. You know your child best; buy wisely! Remember, anything that can pass through a toilet paper roller is a choking hazard!
