This handmade stackable ring features a small pink ruby set on a sterling silver band. The design is crisp and absolutely minimalist.
The ruby measures 3mm in diameter and weighs 0.13 carats. It was earth-mined in Mozambique and is 100% natural aside from being heat-treated at the mine to enhance its clarity and colour. It's an immaculate little stone with eye-clean transparency, a neat cut, and flawless unblemished surfaces. Its hue is a bright magenta alive with hot pink sparkle.
The 1.5mm diameter band is solid sterling silver. It's a round profile, smooth and highly polished, and weighs 1.2 grams. The bezel holding the ruby is also solid sterling silver. It measures 3.5mm wide x 3mm high. This leaves the top surface of the ruby sitting around 4mm above the top of the wearer's finger, making it a very 'low profile' design suitable for everyday wear.
Presentation for the ring includes a hinge-lid gift box lined with colour coordinated Japanese Unryu papers. Unryu is a handmade designer paper that contains strands of plant fiber for colour and contrast - very pretty. Dressing up my jewellery for display and gift-giving is one of my favourite parts of the Etsy process.
