A charming vintage groovy colourful transfer design NORWEGIAN DECANTER or vessel for your favorite Aquavit, Schnapps or Liquor. It has a crystal stopper and gold gilt mouth rim. Made by MAGNOR CRYSTAL STUDIOS IN NORWAY, very close to the Sweden border. Magnor Studios was started in 1896.

The thick crystal is decorated with a retro 1960/70's transfer pattern. It has never been used & still has the original sticker. There is a bit of discolouration on parts of the transfer pattern & I noticed a small nick at the base of the stopper, I'm not sure if it's damage or a manufacturing imperfection.

Measurements:
4.5" at the widest points in the center
2.25" thick / deep
7.5" tall with stopper in place

International shipping is available, please contact me with your location for shipping options / rates.

Deep in the heart of the forest, a glassworks was founded in 1896, more than 112 years ago. Several generations of skilled glass blowers provide a firm foundation for knowledge and tradition in a company steeped in history. The Magnor Glassverk is built on tradition, will and ambition. Today, Magnor Glassverk is the biggest tourist attraction in Hedmark, with around 200,000 visitors every year. More Information >

Supplier of excellent design since 1896

The glassworks was founded as early as 1896 in the deep forests near the Swedish border, in the last densely populated area on the Norwegian side, just three kilometres from the border and 120 kilometres from Oslo. The large forests have always been here, supplying fuel for the heat-devouring melting furnaces. The fire has never gone out.

Masters, glass blowers and artists all follow professions which tend to run in families, from father to son, from adult to youth. Magnor Glassverk is no exception - the glass has set its mark on an entire district over the generations. Our history has been shaped by skilled glass workers. Together, they form a firm foundation as the creators and forerunners of our current unique production. More than a century of tradition in hand-made glass and crystal has given us valuable knowledge and experience.

Over the years, more that thirty glassworks have been established in Norway, and almost as many again have been closed down. The conditions for running a glassworks have changed over time the will, commitment and the many years of experience of its owners, staff and the local community have carried Magnor Glassverk through difficult times.

At Magnor Glassverk, large amounts of money have been invested since the 1990's in upgrading production equipment and buildings. Making its production and marketing more intensive has enabled the company to greatly increase its turnover. As greater emphasis has been placed on design, the company has formed associations with many different designers, which has helped to renew and change its collection.
