Description

Handcrafted Ink Pen in Antique Brass and Forest Green Laminated Wood
This version of our smaller pens is a bit larger, still great for small hands but with a little more substance. Ink pen features a modern design with a convenient Parker style click pen mechanism. This ballpoint ink pen was individually handcrafted through a long process and is one of a kind. The Laminated Wood has been turned, sanded and coated with 10 layers of finish and polished to a satin shine that is extremely beautiful and durable. Pen ships with instructions for use in a hard clear topped case for protection or gift giving.

Handcrafted Click Top Pens Antique Brass Plating
Antiqued brass components have a brass, copper or zinc base with a brass plating. The components are then darkened to give them a "distressed" (oxidized) appearance. The authentic patina and natural darkening brings out the details of the finish and creates a unique feel with a charm all its own.

Additional Information on Handcrafted Pens
All of my ink pens are handcrafted on a lathe in my shop
Each picture of a pen is the actual pen that you will receive
All pens will ship within 24 - 48 hours
Each ink pen is unique; no two will ever be alike since they are handcrafted works of art.
All of our wood products are purchased through legally licensed providers that provide exotic woods from sustainable forest product areas.

Ink Pen Crafting Process
The Click Top ink pen is constructed first by hand selecting each piece and then cutting, drilling and turning the pen to its final shape on a lathe. The pen is then sanded 7 times with progressively finer grits (150, 220, 320, 400, 600, and 800) of sandpaper, to achieve a very smooth surface and a diameter tolerance of .001 - .002 in, for a smooth transition with the metal parts. Wood pens then have 10 coats of finish applied and the ink pen is sanded again 9 times with sandpaper to 12,000 grits to a high shine or satin finish. Acrylic and Tru-Stone pens are sanded 9 times with sandpaper to 12,000 grits for a high shine and then a polish is added.

FAQs

I handcraft all the pens on this website. No two handmade items are exactly alike. Variations in color, shading, texture, shape and grain are inherent in a handmade item. No two items are alike, so that every single one is one-of-a-kind. This means that every handmade item you purchase is also one-of-a-kind. What’s not to like about that?
All of our wood products are purchased through legally licensed providers that provide exotic woods from sustainable forest product areas.
All of our pen pricing is based on the price of the materials involved in the making of the pen. You may see two pens that are the same style but priced differently. The price of the finishes plus the cost of the Woods or Acrylic affect the pricing. Chrome plating while durable is less expensive than say Antique Pewter. A more common wood is cheaper than a rare exotic such as Burl. All pens are not created equal. The time involved for the final steps of sanding and sizing for an exact fit are the most important. My pens may at first seem a little more expensive but the finished quality of fit and finish are very high and require more time and skill to complete. I redo and dis-guard pens and parts all the time that do not meet my standards.
Yes, all of our pens are one of a kind, no large production. When a pen is purchased, the item page changes to out of stock because it is the only one there is.
If you see a pen you like, let me know, I will give you a price, and estimated ship date. Please note that although the pen I make will be similar there will be slight changes in color and grain as each wood or acrylic piece is unique
Yes, you can, if you see a pen style you like and a wood or acrylic you like on another pen let us know and we will give you a price, and estimated ship date
We currently only sell and ship to the 48 continental USA states and Canada by USPS.
We accept returns for 14 days from the date you receive your order. We do not pay for return shipping unless the pen is defective.
Every ballpoint and rollerball pen I sell uses standard Cross or Parker refills. The fountain pens use Waterman Style, and all are available at office supply and stationery stores worldwide. I also carry some refills on this website.
Yes I do, any upcoming shows will be found on my homepage under announcements. I currently am only doing shows in Massachusetts.
