Description

A super functional lidded jar for those who love to pickle things! This size is especially nice for sauerkraut, and I include a simple recipe for those who are just getting started.

This jar, lid and weight were all thrown on the wheel by me. I added handles on the sides, sturdy enough to help lift the jar in and out of the fridge, but narrow enough to not take up too much precious fridge space. The top of the lid and bottom of the pot have a subtle spiral for added interest.

The weight has two large holes in it to help your ferments stay under the brine, and a small handle to help lift it out. The jar is straight walled for easy use and cleaning, and the lid sits inside with a flat top so you can stack other things on it.

This crock measures approximately 6"h x 6"w x 5"d including the lid and handles. It holds about 4 cups (1 quart) which is just the right size for a medium head of cabbage made into sauerkraut. Each one is handmade, by me, and will have slight variations.

Inside glaze is a glossy tan, outside is nutmeg brown and light green. All glazes are food safe and can be washed in the dishwasher.

If you love this crock, but want to use it for your sourdough starter, the ferment weight can be removed and $7 will be subtracted from the price. Please send me a convo/email before purchasing so I can make this adjustment.
