The Magnificent Voice That Sang from the hear to the heart of the Entire Nation - Show Business Legend Kate Smith in a Rare Stage Appearance Singing the Greatest Songs of her Career at Carnegie Hall - A Live Recording of her Historic November 1963 Performance.

Kate Smith - nobody sings like Kate Smith any more - and that's a doggone shame. Kate was a plus-size woman with a plus-size heart and a plus-size voice. Her voice was really amazing - she could belt it out, but she was always in control and her renditions were full and clear.

This recording captured her return to the live stage after a hiatus of 31 years and Carnegie Hall was packed with an appreciative audience. Kate appears calm and in full control - she had them in the palm of her hand - it's obvious the audience loved her. Listen to this record and find out why.

Of course the two greatest songs of her career are here - "God Bless America" and "When the Moon Comes Over the Mountain". Sing 'em Kate!

The orchestral accompaniment was under the direction of Skitch Henderson.

As a nifty extra added attraction, the notes on the back of the cover were written by none other than Ed Sullivan, who had been in the very same audience. An old friend of Kate, his comments are warm and informative.

This is a used/previously played record with the following noted:

DISC - Bright and clean with no surface marks of particular note - plays brightly with a minimum of extraneous noise

COVER - Bright, clean and presentable with no splitting - there is a soft bump to the bottom corner tip of the mouth with a resulting shallow crease or wrinkle to the board (this is just perceptible in our picture of the cover)

LINER - Original RCA printed paper liner
