This listing is for a three-foot (3') segment of vintage punchinella (i.e. sequin waste). It is 3 1/4" wide. This black punchinella came from an old vintage art/hobby/craft store that opened in the 1960's!

Punchinella is a wonderful addition to any mixed media / collage artists' art supply collection, as you can create wonderful backgrounds and texture on a variety of mixed media surfaces. One piece can last you for a very long time! You can also add punchinella directly into your mixed media creations, altered books, mail art, and more!

Because this punchinella is so wide, it makes a wonderful background for ATCs, chunky books, or other smaller pieces of art--but also works equally well on a larger canvas.

The photos for this listing show the punchinella you'll be receiving along with photos of a completed project that used punchinella designs.

To use punchinella:

1) Lay the punchinella down on the surface on which you want to add texture
2) Hold it down with your fingers so that the punchinella lays flat against the paper/canvas/page
3) Take a dry brush and acrylic paint and gently brush the paintbrush across the punchinella
4) Lift the punchinella up, and you'll have a wonderful stencil of circles. You can even layer punchinella circles in repeated patterns for more interesting design

Other punchinella use ideas:
1) Punchinella works great in beeswax collage (lay it down, put beeswax over the top, and when the beeswax is still soft, lift up and you'll have wonderful circles!)
2) Punchinella works great with dimensional plaster or molding paste. Lay it down on your surface, put a thin layer of plaster on, and then lift off!
3) Punchinella also works as a stamp--take a brayer and acrylic paint, paint directly onto the punchinella, lay the paint side down on a piece of paper, roll it down with the brayer, and lift off!
4) Use the actual Punchinella for decoration in mixed media projects

This piece of punchinella when used as a stencil can be cleaned again and again for repeated use :).
