Beautiful antique round covered butter dish from Heisey Glass in the Winged Scroll - Emerald Green pattern, made between 1899 and 1901. This lovely pattern has a fancy handle and gold on the raised design on the lid and base. The lid is particularly lovely.

This piece has excellent clarity, with a few small air bubbles and lines in the glass and some light marks from use. The lid is in very good condition, with relatively little wear on the gold and no chips or cracks. The base shows more signs of use; the gold has almost worn away in parts, and the very bottom has five or six small chips and some rough spots; however, these are all on the very bottom, and the outside rim is undamaged.

A.H. Heisey founded his glass company in 1895, and it continued producing vivid glass until 1958. The company's work is valued for its precise manufacture and vivid colors.

Size: 4 1/2 inches tall x 7 1/2 inches across (11.4 x 19 cm)
