Original H. Marshall Gardiner post card from the 1920's.
"PHOSTINT" The Detroit Publishing Company,
divided back, unused, mint condition.

Looking down Weymouth Street towards the northeast, that's Nantucket harbor in the distance with Monomoy on the horizon. The four "little cottages" in the foreground can be seen in my "today" snapshot. The harbor is no longer visible from the street here.

Many of the homes on the side streets of West Monomoy and Fish Lots, as seen in this card, were built in the 1700's G. Gardiner Salisbury, Nantucket Post Cards (East Greenwich, RI: Meridian, 1995) p. 40

Experienced travelers ask for cards made by the “PHOSTINT’ PROCESS, because they find in them truthfulness and delicacy of color, taste in a pictorial composition, discrimination in choice of subject, and appreciation of beauty and educational values." This quote is from a Detroit Publishing Company brochure. circa 1925
