A fantastic piece! At first I thought this was a planter (and could be used as such), and I have heard it described a pipe holder, however a kind Etsy'er informed me that this was designed to be a men's valet. Further research has shown this item attributed to McCoy Pottery, who made dresser caddies in the 1950's for the company Swank. The slot in the bull's back holds a wallet, the concave area on the head holds loose change, and the horns hold a watch and rings. Clever!

The bull measures 10 1/2" long x 6" wide x 5" tall. He is in excellent vintage condition, just a few glaze pops that occurred during the manufacturing process. One eye is glazed white, the other is black (though that could have been intentional, like the bull has one eye closed). No chips or cracks, but does have a few lines of crazing on the underside that run up the legs.
