This handmade wooden winged box was created from storm damaged trees on the campus of Mississippi University for Women. The Walnut grew near the faculty apartments. It was infested with termites and needed to be taken down before it fell and caused damage to the apartments. The lid is spalted Maple which came from a limb that broke off during a storm.

What alum wouldn't treasure this? It measures 7" long by 3" wide by 3" high. The bowl opening measures 2.5" wide by 1" deep. It is finished with five coats of gloss lacquer. I have signed and dated it on the bottom and the wood species is also listed.
