Low relief sculpture in iridescent colors. Acrylic on birch plywood 11" high x 8.5" wide x 2" deep. Wire attached on back for hanging. Signed on back of painting.

During a residency at Prairie Center of the Arts, I had the unique opportunity to use an Omax waterjet, using elements of the earth (water and garnet) to cut. The process is the same as water erosion found in nature but greatly accelerated and concentrated. Inspired by topographical maps of places I had lived and painted, I created drawings that I then scanned and saved into DXF (Drawing Exchange Format) files. The waterjet cut each plywood section directly from these DXF files. Afterwards, I painted and assembled these into low-relief topographic sculptures. Each sculpture is four layers deep.

Will be packaged securely in bubble-wrap and shipped in USPS Priority box.
