The hat:
Circa unknown. Est. early 1900s. Great Condition. Royal Stetson. In 1865, with $100, John B. Stetson rented a small room, bought the tools he needed, bought $10 worth of fur and the John B. Stetson Hat Company was born. Made of either Beavers Felt or Wool (not stated). Leather headband. Hat box and insert for proper storing (not certain this is the original box but still of the era). Rare and very collectable.
Hat Size: 7 3/8 long oval (aprox. 22 1/2"), 1 7/8" brim width, 4 1/4" dome height.
Box: 13 1/2" x 12" x 7 7/8"

The gentleman who wears the hat:
Butch Cassidy (April 13, 1866-November 6, 1908), born Robert LeRoy Parker, was a notorious American train robber, bank robber, and leader of the Wild Bunch Gang (the Sundance Kid included). A notorious dresser as well, the man adored a three-piece suit, pocket watch, and derby on the regular. You see this style duplicated today.
