A word about the VALUE included in our Shipping Charges and why we will Never offer “Free Shipping” on any of our individual items…

At D & R Vintage Dinnerware and Replacements, all we sell is Ceramic Dinnerware and Tableware items. We are a small Family business with a very experienced and dedicated Packing/Shipping Team that will make sure your items make it safely to your home – in fact we guarantee it!

Everything we sell is very fragile, so we Custom Pack each one with Professional Packing Materials and put it the appropriate sized box to give it the best chance to make it to your home without breakage. Sometimes that costs a little more, but we think you would rather have your item arrive safely in one piece INSTEAD OF being disappointed when it arrives damaged.

Most Importantly – we charge you ONLY WHAT IT COSTS US to ensure your item safely arrives at your home…. NO MORE, NO LESS... Most times we actually lose money on the shipping.

So what about that “Free Shipping” and why is it really NOT “Free” but it actually costs you more!

Well, we all know “Free” Shipping is just a Sales gimmick and is NOT really free! The Post Office never delivers anything for free – they always charge based on weight and distance and their rates are always going up, never down… Since Free Shipping isn’t really “FREE”, why do they now encourage Sellers to offer free Shipping and how do the Sellers try to do it? Of course the answer is the Sellers try to hide it in the retail price of the item. Not only is that deceitful, but in the end you pay more if you buy more than a quantity of one or if you live closer to the seller or even on the same side of the country as the Seller.

Think about it, to offer free shipping a Seller has to build in the “Average Shipping Cost” into the Retail Price. So you are paying the shipping cost twice if you buy more than one of that item and in effect you are subsidizing the shipping cost for someone who lives farther away from the Seller.

And be careful, as we said - now they even encourage this and they make it part of the search algorithms that determine what and where items appears in YOUR search results . The default “Relevancy” search option isn't always what’s most "Relevant" to You!
