To make this beautiful basket I begin by sketching a design on a clean blown shell and then use a high speed drill to hand carve the pattern shown above. Each egg I create is a wonder of nature. It is unique; it is a rare and beautiful work of art.

The egg offered for sale here is a medium size brown chicken shell and measures just under three inches tall.
A complementary stand is included.

I accept special orders to carve and etch turkey, chicken, duck, peafowl, pheasant, partridge, and even quail eggs! Contact me to discuss your ideas.

The Victorians were quite fond of ornamentation and decorated their Easter eggs with snippets of daily life: trade cards, ribbons, beads, and bits of old lace. The eggs I create today are etched or carved in patterns reminiscent of fine Victorian lace, and so I call these delicate, dainty works of art Victorian Lace Eggs.
