These earrings are a unique piece and will not be repeated, since the central red crystal is a vintage Swarovski, which has not been manufactured for years.
With regard to the rest of the materials, tell you that the earrings are made almost entirely of glass. Gold Japanese glass beads have been used, woven together with needle and thread (in a one hundred percent handmade process), the centerpiece of the rosettes is Swarovski crystal (as discussed above) and there is a series of smaller crystals, Swarovski too, to bring more brightness. The hooks are gold filled.
Total length: 2.4in
What is japanese glass?
It’s called japanese glass, because the two most important companies, the oldest and with better quality beads, are Japanese (Miyuki and Toho).
They’re perforated pieces made out of glass, which come in many shapes and sizes, and which have different coatings applied to, to achieve different finishes (shiny, metallic, opaque, transparent, matte, etc.).
Swarovski crystals
Although there are many brands and types of cut glass, for their superior quality and shininess I work with Swarovski. I use faceted crystals (rivolis) as centerpieces, bicone-shaped crystals, round glass beads, cabochons, teardrops, etc.
Maintenance and care
How to keep your Koko-Soko Jewels in perfect condition:
- These products are made entirely or almost entirely with glass elements, so they are fragile and it’s recommended to store them in their own packaging (in the case of bracelets, always stretched out).
- The glass beads have coatings that don’t withstand well exposure to chemicals.
- The ítems are made using thread, and despite the fact that it’s a very strong special thread, it’s better to avoid contact with water.
By following these simple guidelines, your Koko-Soko products will keep their colors and brightness for much longer.
