Thank you, Annie, for this delightful and helpful book. I've just finished my design for a project with my weaving study group. We are making napkin rings 11/2" wide inkle woven. Your book helped me work out a 75 end rather tapestry-ly design of my interpretation of a sunset over the Rockies. Most of all, I learned how to shade a color to move into another color by the use of speckles. Hadn't even seen that before. Between this project and your book, my interest has been renewed and I'm now dreaming up my next project.

This book is very handy. Like the author, I, too, love weaving on an inkle and just picked it up after a 50 year hiatus. I had to relearn everything, but it came back fairly easy, except for pattern designing. This book not only discusses in a comprehensive way, color theory, but introduces patterns and design in such a way that it encourages you to take the ideas and run with them. Thank you A. MacHale! If you are looking for a book on how to set up the inkle loom, and weave, and take off the piece, this is not the book you are looking for. If you have the basic knowledge on the inkle loom, this book takes you into the creative arena. While playing around with colors, textures and patterns, I take the weavings off my little inkle loom, finish the edges, fold them up to make a pocket, and put the ends of a headband into it.
