This sculpture was hand built out of coils of stoneware clay from a model at a life sculpting session.

She is approximately 13 inches tall, by 10" wide, by 7" deep. She is glazed matte white and was fired in a soda kiln, giving subtle variations to the surface.

The top of the head is an open mind, she can hold certain objects in her open head space. The underside of the sculpture is also wide open, and the channel is open from bottom to top, so she can be the top component of a fountain with water flowing out the top of her head and washing down.

She is seated with a slight twist on top of a seat with a face sculpted into it. I think of her as embodying bare awareness on the seat of the mind. She is at peace, and free of judgments, just aware. There is a graceful state of being about her, as she is mindful of her body, and the present state in which she exists.
