This product is made after order is placed.

I use an all natural, water-based clear coat finish on all of my products to seal in in the healthiest of ways. I do not use stains. The darkening of the wood comes from applying the shou sugi ban technique. All other colors used are from a hand mixed water based paint. This allows not only for my work space to stay healthy, clean and safe to breathe in but also for your home and studio environment as well.

Silver steel rods are used for each tier to hold even the heavier yoga mats, as well as for busier studio environments. Rod holes are reinforced with deep pocketed steel for ease of sliding rods into position.

Every yoga mat holder is one of a kind due to the nature of each board having its own individual grain patterning, knotting and sap levels for absorptions. Each item is handcrafted individually at the time of ordering.

The Shou Sugi Ban (Yakisugi) technique is an ancient Japanese fire burning technique used to traditionally preserve wood by charring it with fire. I use this application on all of my items. It is an important part of my designs and my process of using all 4 elements in the making of my pieces. I switch between a dark charred to a light shou sugi ban burn in varying degrees to accentuate the wood grains while giving a warm feel of natural earthen element.

***All 5 elements are intentionally used in the making of all my products. ***

Earth - (wood, metal)
Fire - (sou sugi ban application)
Air - (high air flow room for drying process)
Water - (water to make color washes and cool the wood while putting out any deeper
Ether/Spirit - (the inspiration of the subject matter and use of each product)

Colors very slightly due to wood grains, amount of sap in wood and how much color the wood will absorb while still showing grains and knots in wood.

Turquoise - Turquoise tones all over the wood grains.

Mossy greens - Deep green tones of a forest.

White Wash - A creamy white color wash.

Natural - Natural wood tones with no color added. Using the burning technique to lightly texture the grain only.

Shou Sugi Ban - An ancient Japanese fire burning technique. Blackening of the wood with the open flame giving texture and character. No ink transfer image on this backboard color. It won't be able to be seen on the black.

I use the 5 elements in all of my items...

Earth - (wood)
Fire - (burning of the wood with the flame)
Air - (high air flow area for drying and airing of the stages)
Water - (water is used to cool the burning technique and put out any embers)
Ether/Spirit - (the inspiration and over all subject matter and use of the products...that of which is brought also by the new owner of each product)

Two pre-cut keyholes on the back side for easy hanging. Wall screws not included.

A portion from each sale is donated to a monthly charity chosen each month. It's always been important to try to keep a balance in all things, including when making money. Portions are always given back to help out where there's a need in the world. I also have started a KIVA group to help out with micro loans on the side of the monthly charity donations.

Over the past few years we have helped in areas of challenging agriculture needs, educational support, repairing eye sight, surgeries that save a life, feeding in times of crisis, birthing kits to refugees, dental clinics on reservations here and clinics abroad, newborn baby kits for refugees, surgeries for abused dogs, emergency medical supplies and so many more causes. Every little bit does help...it's an inspiring and motivational aspect that I like to look forward to.

It's so beautiful!! I ordered mine in the blue/teal color, and mine ended up looking more green, but stains are unpredictable that way. I love the look and it's perfect to hold all my foam rollers and yoga mats!

I absolutely love this holder! It’s a beautiful and perfect addition to my yoga practice space! I was so impressed by the care and effort that Wudu puts into building this hand made product, including a note with the process for how it was created, and I loved the little matching journal it came with (such a fun surprise when I opened the package!). The holder is very sturdy.. one of my mats is pretty heavy, and I made it a point to “roughly” hang it on the holder and try to get it to move around. It held up great. I can’t recommend this shop enough! Thank you, Wudu, for being so awesome!
