This piece won the second place prize in the "Maple Build-Off" competition sponsored by "Fine Woodworking Magazine" in 2008. A true Collectors Item, this piece is the first work utilizing the unique "Mobius Lamination Technique" that was developed specifically for the contest.

In spite of its' delicate appearance, this chair is immensely sturdy. The main frame is essentially one piece, glued long grain to long grain with modern adhesives, I have no expectation that it will ever deteriorate.

You will not find a similar piece to this and it is one of only four examples of this fabrication method.

The leather cushion was added after the contest because the rules did not allow any materials other than "wood, glue and finish".
