Description

Entirely handmade piece – a unique mug for yourself or as a gift for a dog-lover.

Handmade cappuccino/latte/tea mug thrown on the potter's wheel in Stoke-on-Trent earthenware red clay and decorated with embossed illustrations of a running dog. The mug is painted covered in vitreous ceramic slips that fuse with the clay. It is finished with splashes of coloured oxides and a clear glaze inside and out. Fired to approx 1100 degrees centigrade. Handles are hand-pulled and formed.

This piece is unique, being designed and handmade and glazed entirely by myself, although I make a small, limited number of this style of mug, no two will ever be quite the same. They make a perfect gift, especially for a 'pottery' anniversary. Holds 12 -13 fluid ounce volume is based on mug being filled to within about an inch or half an inch of the rim. It is stamped OLLEY on base.

UK delivery is by signed delivery Royal Mail to (option to upgrade to Special Delivery Guaranteed next working day or to Special Delivery Guaranteed Saturday am). I send you a tracking number once the parcel has been dispatched allowing you to the track your pottery to your door.

For overseas buyers I use the excellent Royal Mail Insured Tracked & Signed service which specifies 5-7 working days (though please note I have found it can take up to 10 working days). I send you a tracking number once the parcel has been dispatched allowing you to the track your pottery to your door.

All pottery is handmade and decorated by Simon Olley Pottery in Kent, England.

FAQs

All of my pieces are handmade and decorated as one-offs, for this reason, wholesale is not something I am really able to do. Why not consider purchasing a one-off ceramic as a display piece on your bar or shelving?
I try to be accurate about sizing but as everything is handmade there is some inevitable variation in sizing. If the size of an item is crucial, please check with me before ordering.
Most of the work I send to USA is relatively small (mugs, jugs, vases) and I am able to use the UK Royal Mail's insured Tracked and Signed service.

A day or so after placing your order, I will send you a tracking number, this allows you to follow the journey of your pottery via the Royal Mail website. Once your parcel arrives in the States USPS continues to track your parcel's journey to your door.

Delivery time depends on where you live, currently (early 2019) to USA is taking as little 5 working days (Royal Mail quotes between 5 and 7 working days, but is dependant on variables such as customs).
