Description

A dazzling Art Deco platinum, diamond, and sapphire line bracelet from the estate of a prominent Michigan collector and patron of the arts: Selma Hollander. The bracelet is slim, supple, and sinuous. It flexes and moves moves easily to hug the contours of the wrist with a satisfying weight. The design is glamorous and elegant, with a slight thinning/tapering away from the center of the bracelet to a slim body of uniform width (5mm). The bracelet is pavé set with old cut diamonds and sapphires: each link is set with anywhere from one to eight gemstones. There are forty-six (46) 1.5-1.7mm rose cut diamonds and twenty (20) 2.7-4mm Old European Cut diamonds totaling 3.80 carats (SI-G/H). There are six (6) 4.5 x 4.0 rectangular brilliant cut synthetic sapphires, two (2) siced cut pentagon shaped sapphires, and eight (8) rectangular mixed cut sapphires - all synthetic, approx. .65 carat total weight. The sapphires add contrast and color to the piece, with the mixed cut stones set so seamlessly at the center of the bracelet that they appear almost as drawn-in accents. Engraved on the top and bottom sides. Three closure mechanisms, including a safety chain. A truly superb piece and a stunning example of "high" Art Deco jewelry design.

Note: This piece comes with an insurance appraisal in the amount of $13,500.
