World's Fair souvenirs are so much fun!

Here's an original vintage silverplated souvenir spoon from the 1933 "A Century of Progress" World's Fair in Chicago!

The design of this spoon has a wonderful art deco feel. The handle includes the words: "A Century of Progress - 1933 - Chicago" along with the swirling globe symbol, a shield & skyscraper. It also includes the most recognizable architectural symbol of the fair: The Sky Ride!

The Sky Ride was a transporter bridge (or aerial tramway) designed by the bridge engineering firm Robinson & Steinman, that ferried people across the lagoon in the center of the fair. It was demolished after carrying 4.5 million riders during the run of the fair.

The bowl of the spoon includes an illustration of the "General Exhibits Group" - and on the back of the handle is the "Hall of Science - Rostrum."

This silverplated spoon was made by: "Oneida Community Par Plate." It measures approx. 6 inches - the size of a standard teaspoon.

Condition: Quite Good! It has been used though - so there are some expected minor scratches and tiny dings, but nothing that should detract from your enjoyment of the spoon. It will arrive at your door with a just polished shine!

What a wonderful find for a World's Fair Collector - or any fan of Chicago!

Enjoy! -
