I am pleased to offer a lovely Betty Boop type small celluloid doll. She looks pretty good for a gal of 60 plus years. Celluloid is a very delicate material; it dents and can break easily. Many toys were given away at carnivals in this material or were found in the local five and dime store. Since these were played with by children, it is hard to find an undamaged piece. Happily, our girl is in very good shape with golden hair, cheerful bright markings and facial features. She is not dented or cracked. Her arms are jointed with an elastic string that has relaxed over the years so that her arms hang slightly. She is approximately 5" tall. Our doll is embossed on the back with the words "Made in Occupied Japan".

She was produced in occupied Japan after WWII. The occupation took place between 1946 and 1952. Japan was required to mark all items with the word "Occupied" in order for the allied countries to accept their products. It enabled Japan to recover as a country.

This is from my personal collection, which I desire to down size. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions or concerns. Please review my policies. Please notify me if you want to ship with another item.

Thank you for looking.
Best wishes, Dishdarlin
