This is a wall pocket made in bisque which is an unglazed porcelain painted in soft pastel colors. The gentleman featured in this pocket is three dimensional. There are no cracks or chips. There is some residual paint on the back I believe from hanging a very long time. There is a hole on the back to allow mounting. The pocket is 3-3/4" high x 2-3/4" wide x 1-1/4" deep. This is in very good condition for its age. This pocket has a female version which I currently do not have. I have seen her from time to time on other website offerings. Maybe you have a match?

Our item was produced in occupied Japan after WWII. The occupation took place between 1946 and 1952. Japan was required to mark all items with the word "Occupied" in order for the allied countries to accept their products. It enabled Japan to recover as a country.

This is from my personal collection, which I desire to down size. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions or concerns. Please review my policies. Please notify me if you want to ship with another item, I will combine freight.

Thank you for looking.
