ApuSylvi is a flexible arc-shaped frame invented to help handicraft making. It helps crafting by holding the materials (yarns, fabrics) in place and reducing strain on joints and muscles. It benefits all handicrafters, but especially people with impaired functional ability (age, rheumatism, injury, neurological condition, etc.). It is also an popular equipment for occupational therapists in rehabilitation and evaluation.

How does it work?

ApuSylvi is made from flexible non-allergic polyurethane, and it comes with 10 big headed needles, 2 adjustable rubber bands and 2 wooden crossbars.

- Yarn or fabric can be attached to ApuSylvi with needles.
- Yarn is kept tight as slides below the crossbar.
- With the rubber bands you can adjust the tightness of the crossbar.

How was it invented?

I am an occupational therapist and i worked with a customer called Sylvi. She is a passioned handicrafter, but due to a stroke, her left side is paralyzed. Sylvi and her husband Jussi invented this shape to make it possible for Sylvi to continue her beloved hobby, without constantly needing to ask Jussi to assist her. We continued to develop the product together and used it in therapy. Sylvi and Jussi are older of ge, so i decided to make this a product and help people to gain joy in their life by doing handicrafts!
