This vintage children's book was copyrighted in 1948 by The John C. Winston Company. It was written and illustrated by husband and wife team Maud and Miska Petersham. Maud and Miska wrote and illustrated many books between 1917 and 1958. I have 9 'The Story of...' books I will be listing by Maud and Miska Petersham.
'The Story Book of Corn' is a beautifully illustrated book which describes the importance of corn throughout history. It tells how corn is planted and harvested. It explains how it is an important part of American History when settlers came to America and it saved them from starvation.
This book is in good vintage condition. There is very minimal wearing to the corners of the book. There is a hole in the binding of the book in the upper portion. The hole is small, but goes through the outside cover. A previous owner signed the inside of the book.
