ON CLEARANCE

For bird lovers, young or grown-up!

Mrs. Monty and the Birds is a 1946 book that, as is stated on the dedication page, is taken from the author's experiences with birds and give a true picture of bird life. Written about two children who watch birds and have their parents and other adults explain avian behavior, it's a bit in the style of vintage writers like Elizabeth Gordon. It is 8 x 5.5 inches in size.

I thought that this was probably some obscure book that was relegated to a few back shelves, but I came to discover that there was actually a reprinting of this title done in the 1990's.

Here's the real deal, in just dandy shape, with a very cute and clean retro cover. Look at the mommy blue jay -- those kids on the dock better watch it, or she's going to swoop down and let them know who's boss...

BOOK CONDITION

This little clothbound book is in very nice condition, with just a bit of wear around the edges and on the tips. The color illustration that is stamped into the book is clean and bright.

The interior has a bookstore stamp and a dedication date 1950 to a child from "Aunt Birdie." The remaining pages are clean, tight and free of markings. There are no rips or tears and the binding is very solid. There's a small amount of age-related tanning to the pages, but no foxing or spotting.
