The Gibson Girl epitomized the feminine ideal at the turn of the century. She was portrayed by the satirical pen-and-ink illustrations of Charles Dana Gibson. She often wore a soft, loosely fitted blouse of light cotton or silk with a high collar to accentuate her neck. Women loved the simple blouse worn with a skirt. It was so popular that in 1905 Sears Roebuck offered 150 variations in their catalog in everything from cotton to lace and taffeta.
This blouse pattern has two different versions to chose from. Both have the full shaped front gathered into a rounded yokes.
* in view A the high collar and yoke are finished with lace
* in view B rows of stitched lace replace the collar as was the fashion
* tucks and lace insertions on the body of the blouse are optional
* lace was tucked into the pattern so I am assuming it was intended for making the blouse

This pattern is uncut, factory folded, and in excellent condition. The envelope shows normal vintage wear.
