Vintage deadstock victorian style rubber boots from JunqueGypsy.Etsy.com are an amazing find! I just sent a pair of these to Melbourne Australia for a witch costume in a huge haunted house.

These are very cool! From the 30's-40's, they have an antique looking silhouette. And at 80 years old, they pretty much are antique.

These are from the deadstock of a department store which was open in the 1940's. We found boxes and boxes of various styles and sizes of black gum rubber overshoes, made in USA, in a small town main street building about to be remodeled. Gum rubber is not even used in today's production of poly-plastic boots.

This listing is for a pair of woman's pull-on black rubber overshoes with hollow molded high heels. Closure is front fold over with two metal black snaps. Inside is soft gray flannel lining. Soft and pliable black rubber, these have never been worn and were still in the original box with tissue paper.

Bottom is marked size 5 1/2, Tyer, est 1856, Andover, Mass, Made in USA (But the same style is available in 4.5 and one size 4. YOU MUST TELL ME WHICH OF THE THREE SIZES YOU WANT BEFORE I WILL SHIP YOUR ORDER. Just USE THE DROP DOWN MENU TO PICK THE SIZE YOU WANT.)

Measurements:
The sizing of these vintage rubber boots is very tricky because of the vintage sizing numbers used on bottom, and difficulties measuring the length of boots due to the hollow heel.. (But all that I have sold have fit the buyers, thanks to careful description and measuring.) Because of the rubber, these have a bit of stretch into them to provide some leeway in fit.

The size 5 1/2 boots are 9.25 in long, 3.25 in wide, 2 in heel, 8.25 from bottom of heel to top of back. (My size 8-8.5 bare foot can squish into one of these, but of course I could not wear it that way because of the hollow heel. I'm just tossing that in to give an idea of the size.)

The boots marked 4 1/2 are 8 13/16 inches long, measured inside by using a string and then measuring the string. (ONLY ONE PAIR OF THIS SIZE)

The boots marked 4 are 8 11/16 inches long, measured inside by using a string and then measuring the string. (ONLY ONE PAIR OF THIS SIZE)

*PLEASE USE THE DROP DOWN MENU IN THE LISTING TO PLACE YOUR ORDER FOR WHICH OF THE THREE SIZES YOU WANT.

Sizing
To ensure a good fit, I recommend the following:
Wearing the shoes you plan to wear these boots over, stand on a piece of paper and trace around your foot (make sure the pencil is vertical) then with a measuring tape or ruler measure your foot length from the tip to the back of your heel and across the ball.

**To save shipping costs, I will not send in the original, bulky and brittle box. Instead, they will be packed in lighter recycled packaging.

The largest pair of black rubber vintage boots (flat bottom w/faux fur around top)I have are here:

****I have several pairs of black gum rubber boots in additional sizes and styles from this deadstock store inventory find. Contact me if you would like me to check for specific sizes/styles for future listing or custom order. Some of these are flat bottomed, some are zipper closed. The largest size is 5.5 ( The size 6 sold to a buyer who was wanting to fit her "8 wide or 8.5 medium width", and they fit her perfectly according to her feedback). and most are much smaller: 1.5-5.5 sized. Some of these say Convex on the box. The other flat bottom galoshes have small labelled sizes, but have been bought and worn without shoes to fit women who normally wear size 8.5 in current shoe sizes. http://www.etsy.com/listing/80386228/rubber-boots-vintage-galoshes-deadstock?ga_search_query=%2Bboots%2Bblack%2Brubber&ga_search_type=user_shop_ttt_id_5556085

These would make a great prop. I also have a big box of mismatched singles. Figured I'd eventually list the singles for decorator or altered art purposes. Someone did buy a pair that looked like matches, but were half size different to decorate and use for seasonal wear. Contact me if you are interested in that possibility.
